Gordon, the son of Paul Henry Oehser and Grace Oehser, died right before his 91st birthday. Gordon leaves his wife Sue of 33 years of Oakland, as well as his son Tom, grandchildren Bela and Zina of Bethesda, MD, his step daughter Read Obituary
As a kid we knew Gordon as Uncle Gordon and later enjoyed his visits when he stayed with my parents for a couple months circa 1979 at their farm at Penny, British Columbia. I recall that we had Christmas together that year and my Mom and Dad said we shouldn't get him a Christmas present because he was far to much of an intellectual for that. My wife was not so intimidated and bought him a tuque and scarf. It was really cold in northern BC. He was absolutely thrilled. Stephen Ray
Although it has been many years since I have spent time with Gordon and Sue, I will always remember his kindness, gentleness, generosity and wise ways.
He had an appreciation for life and a love of people. I think fostered by his deep love of nature and his ability to be nurtured by it. He taught me many years ago to stop and listen with an open mind to what someone was saying and honor them for their contribution whatever it might have been. I have thought about he and Sue many, many times over these last years, with warmth, gratitude and appreciation.
Gordon was a rare and enlightened being as far as I was concerned.
