Gloria Margaret Klein Smith's Obituary
Smith, Gloria Margaret Klein, 99 years, of Pacifica Senior Living in San Leandro, passed away August 7, 2025.
She was born in Oakland, California on February 24, 1926. Gloria graduated from Oakland High School. As a young woman she worked at H.C. Capwells.
Gloria married George A. Smith on April 6, 1947 and remained married for 66 years until his death in 2013.
Gloria was a loving daughter, wife, aunt, cousin, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a member of the Girl Scouts as an adult and served as treasurer for her daughter’s troop. She was a resident of San Lorenzo for 62 years. Gloria loved being in nature, especially Yosemite, and camping in the California Redwoods with her family.
She is survived by her caring, extended family including a niece, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and her 15 year old “grand dog”. Visits from the dog and her great grandchildren were her greatest source of pride and joy!
No services are planned in accordance with Gloria’s wishes. Donations in her memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of your choice.
