Gloria, the radiant firstborn amidst the Taylor siblings, graced this world, a precious gift to Samuel and Bertha Taylor. Her presence, from the very beginning, was a celestial testament to the extraordinary art of orchestrating life's journey with grace and unyielding purpose.
The world witnessed Gloria's inherent gift for organization, her ability to steer the ship of existence with unwavering precision. Her innate talents charted a remarkable course, guiding her to a 62-year career as an Administrative Assistant for the County of Alameda. In this role, she poured her heart and soul, embracing each day with unswerving pride.
Even after her tenure with the County of Alameda, Gloria continued her dedicated service, this time as the lead Administrative Assistant for the Clergy at Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church. There, she lent her remarkable skills for an additional 15 years, each day a testament to her unwavering commitment to her calling.
Gloria embarked on her spiritual journey early in life, finding solace within the walls of the Catholic Church. However, her heart later led her to unite with her parents and siblings at Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church, where she served faithfully until the day of her untimely departure.
Gloria, a woman of remarkable brilliance, exuded an elegance that left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her passions ran deep, and her love for life was boundless. She possessed a profound affection for the art of trap shooting, an unbridled love for music that stirred her soul, and an enchanting gift for crafting that transformed ordinary materials into works of art. Her talent for shorthand made the written word dance with an eloquent grace, and her exquisite touch for embroidery created masterpieces that spoke to the heart. Calligraphy was her poetic expression, and the world of old westerns, the enigmatic allure of Perry Mason, and the thrill of travel held a special place in her heart.
For Gloria, dragons were not mythical creatures, but symbols of her own fierce determination. Fashion was not just a passing interest; it was a canvas through which she painted her vibrant spirit. Makeup was not merely a cosmetic; it was an art form that celebrated her inner beauty. Fine jewelry was not just adornment; it was a reflection of the precious gems that resided within her soul.
Today, Gloria rests in eternal peace, rejoining her beloved parents, Samuel and Bertha Taylor, and her cherished sister, Maxine Stanton, in the realm beyond. She is survived by her dear sister and lifelong companion, Ruth Taylor, and her only brother, Samuel Taylor Jr. (Barbara), nieces, nephews a host of family friends and loved ones.
Gloria's legacy, however, lives on, a testament to a life magnificently lived, a heart that overflowed with boundless passion, warmth, and love.
Gloria's earthly journey may have come to a close, but her legacy is an everlasting flame, an enduring beacon of inspiration that continues to illuminate our lives. In our cherished memories, she remains a guardian of the treasures that make life profoundly beautiful.
Rest in eternal peace, dear Gloria, your spirit continues to shine in the heavens and in our hearts.
