Gloria Rose Allen's Obituary
Gloria Rose Allen died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 93 on September 2, 2017, in Oakland, California. She was born in San Francisco to Oriente and Agle Gilli, and grew up in Redwood City. In her first career as a bank teller for Hibernia Bank in San Francisco, she made many life-long friends. She married David C. Allen, and while raising her two children in Daly City, she worked at Wells Fargo Bank. Gloria’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and many friends, and she was passionate about animals. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter Diane Allen (Kathleen Quenneville) of Piedmont, California, and son David M. Allen (Elise) of Livermore, California; grandchildren Erica Allen of Brooklyn, New York, Alexander Allen (Eryn) of Pleasant Hill, California, Michael Quenneville of Hayward, California, and Katherine Allen of Livermore, California; and her beloved cat, Isabelle.
Funeral services are scheduled on September 11 at 1 p.m. in the Julia Morgan Chapel at Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue in Oakland. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to the Houston Humane Society or the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
