Ginger Cava's Obituary
Ginger Permillion Cava, nee Dellenholt Born near Stockholm, Sweden on June 28, 1943, passed away December 6, 2011. “MorMor” as she was called by her grandsons, came to the United States at the age of 20 as an Au Pair and ended up in Berkeley, California where she lived for over 35 years. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, fine dining with her husband, and spending time with her daughters and grandsons. She worked in the legal profession for many years in the bay area and will most certainly be remembered for her strong work ethic. Most recently and most notably, Ginger worked at Hinman & Carmichael, a firm specializing in alcoholic beverage law, since April 1999. For more than 12 years she took care of the office’s administrative functions with unwavering enthusiasm and loyalty. Ginger took pride in maintaining high standards at the firm and played a significant role in making Hinman & Carmichael as successful as it is today. She was an avid animal advocate and for years donated money to various SPCA and animal related organizations. Her real love was for German Shepherds, Freja and Laika, to be exact. She is survived by her husband Randy Cava of El Cerrito, her daughters Candace “Candy” Permillion and Carmen “C.C.” Permillion, her two favorite grandsons Victor Picazo and Miles Permillion, all of Berkeley, and a large family back home in Sweden. She will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Oakland SPCA. Private Services will be held.
