Even though my sister Carolyn and I only seen our dad once each year growing up, I do have special memories: I will always remember his so pretty blue eyes; another memory my sister and I still giggle when we talk about it, we were about 3rd and 1st grade and my dad showed up on the playground at our elementary school…My dad was very proud to be a Veteran of the United States of America, he was an enlisted service man during World War II. I remember my dad sharing his memories of a time he was proud to be a citizen of the United States and actively participated with all the other service men who made unconditional sacrifices for our freedom.It is sad I was not informed of my father's death and funeral services, but that is okay, I will say my goodbye another way. And just sharing some of my memories is like saying good bye, as I can just see those pretty blue eyes looking at me!
