George W. Arth Jr.

Husband to Betty R. Arth of 53 years, who preceded him in death in 2007. He is preceded in death by his grandson, George R. Arth. He is survived by his children, Linda Peterson (Norm), George Arth III (Judy) and Ron Arth (Teri). He is survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was a lifelong resident of Oakland, attending Crocker Highlands, Rockridge and Oakland Tech schools. He joined the Nave Reserves in 1944 and in 1945 became a U.S. Merchant Marine. He was the owner of Geo V Arth & Son, Collision Repair Shop in the U.S. Owned and operated by the Arth family for 145 years. George was active in many organizations throughout his lifetime. Some of which include, His Church, Oakland Jr. Chamber of Commerce, East Bay Automobile Association, Oakland Rotary Club and Salvation Army Advisory Board.
