I remember Gary when we both worked for DEC in Portland. Very smart person and well liked by all of his colleagues. He was always there to share his knowledge and made you question the status quo. When award plaques were being handed out for outstanding performance, he would always say "I would prefer a Cash Prize". He was also street smart and worldly about many events happening during those times. He will be missed.
I’m so sorry to see Gary go. I will always remember sitting in the bleachers at the Bromfield School watching our daughters on the court but discussing the latest news in AI long before it was a household word. As the two of us were likely the only ones in the building having written code in Lisp AND used a router to make a mortise and tenon joint we shared a special bond. Carry on Gary.
