Frank Daniel Valenzuela (Dan) passed away peacefully on January 31, 2023 with his loving family at his side.
Dan was born in Oakland, California and attended Oakland Tech High school. He was preceded in death by the “love of his life” his wife of 59 years Ivy Lucille Valenzuela (Lucy). He is survived by his children Sandra Mitchell (Husband Steve), Matthew Valenzuela (Wife Margie), Letty Soogian (Husband Nishon), LesleyGustafson (Husband Mike) and his dog Bella. He was a proud grandfather of eight grandchildren and one great grandson.
He served in the US Army during the Korean war and was stationed in Japan.
His main profession was a hair stylist. For over fifty years he owned a successful salon in the city of Alameda called Dan Francisco’s (formerly known as Franciscos of the East Bay). He always considered himself an entrepreneur. He was a man who loved his work.
He enjoyed playing golf. And, in his younger years running and riding motorcycles.
A Memorial Service for Dan will be held at The Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland, Ca. at 11AM. Reception to follow. Memoriam donations may be made to the SPCA.
