Frank James Reeves King's Obituary
Frank James Reeves King was born September 11th, 1937 in Old Grove, Kentucky to the late Nathaniel Hawthorne Reeves and Thelma Mae Small. Frank was one of nine brothers and sisters: Robert L. Reeves, Nathaniel H. Reeves, Leroy Reeves, Nat L. Reeves, Herbert K. Reeves, Ricky L. Reeves, Helen Harris and Barbara Jones.
Frank moved from Kentucky to Southern California, where he married and had his first son Frank Jr. Frank later moved to San Francisco where he met and married his wife Pearline King. Together they raised four children: Joycelyn van Hoof, Bomani King, Nailah King and Aric King.
Frank was known for his caring and loving personality. He was always willing to help his family, friends, coworkers and neighbors. His love for gardening and working with his hands was envied by all. Frank shared the greater part of his career working for KQED public television and AJR watch repair, where he was given the nickname “The Watch Man”. He appreciated life and the spread of knowledge and understanding. He loved cowboy movies, teaching his children and others how to build, and most of all he loved his family.
Frank King is survived by his wife Pearline King, three sons, Frank Reeves (Danniele), Bomani, Aric and two daughters Joyce van Hoof (Frans) and Nailah. His brothers, Nathaniel, Leroy Reeves (Sherlin), Ricky and two sisters Helen, and Barbara Jones (Robert). His two grandchildren Frank III and Donavon, many nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
