A Watt of Faith
Mother Evelyn Watt was a beacon of hope and aspiration, full of excitement that resonated and spilled over into the hearts of every believer that came into contact with her. Truly she was God sent, when she arrived in California.
She was a woman on a mission.
Mother Watt, or One Watt as she was affectionately called, was a beacon spreading the gospel to anyone who would listen, and she encouraged those who believe to hold fast to their profession of faith.
Over the course of her life in California, Mother had been a member of Christian Apostolic under Suffagan Bishop Robert D. Young, Lively Stone Apostolic (Lewis Brown), East Bay Refuge (Pastor Lillian Parrish), where she helped start a work. Pastor Parrish was affectionately called “Peter”; Mother Watt was “James”. Pastor Lillian Parrish preceded Mother in sleep/rest. Mother Watt was also a member at First Apostolic Faith under Pastor Johnny Lay and later Pastor Samuel Fivecoat. Finally, she was a member of All Nations Pentecostal Church under Pastor Dr. Larry Burton who was called “John”.
Mother Watt kept up the pace of service to God being a gifted pianist. She brought musical ministry to all the worship services at the All Nations Pentecostal Church. She also added a Spiritual Mother Atmosphere and tone to worshipping around the altar. She was a devout Sunday school teacher, leader of women’s ministry, and also a member of the Northern District Apostolic Women Conference (NDAWC). She was the most exciting Spiritual Mother with insight in holy living in the Bay Area. Mother Watt was truly a Mother at the All Nations Pentecostal Church.
One of her favorite quotes:
“Stay in the Word and you won’t get lost”.
She will be extremely missed by all.
