Evelyn Shepherd Jones' Obituary
Evelyn Shepherd Jones of Berkeley, CA was born in Forbing, Louisiana on July 23, 1932. She graduated from Technical High School and attended Merritt College and San Francisco University. Evelyn was married to William Jones, Sr. on May 27, 1961 and he has preceded her in death, now to be reunited.
Evelyn was a accountant for the United States Government for over 30 years. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Oakland, California. She had a passion for helping others and caring for her family. Evelyn is survived by beloved son, William Jones, Jr.; Stacy Jones, daughter-in-law; beloved daughter, Kimberly Jones Martin; and one son-in-law Edward Martin. Survived also by Ginnie V. Johnson her loving sister; loving grandchildren, William Flournoy, Jacque Akema Jones, Sherina Parks, Deborah Martin, William Edward Martin, and Lacheal Renee Martin; nephew, Flournoy Shepherd III and a host of family and friends.
There will be a Memorial Service in Evelyn’s memory on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Chapel of The Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, CA 94611 in the Julia Morgan Chapel beginning at 10:00 am.
