EVA JANE RENTIE's Obituary
Eva Jane Rentie paseed away peacefully on September 24th 2002, surrounded by her children at Summit Hospital in Oakland, CA. Eva was born in Wichita, Kansas and married William H. Rentie in 1946, who preceded her in 1991. She leaves behind three children, William H. Rentie Jr., of Los Angeles, CA., Peaches Elenor Rentie of Oakland, CA., and Jerry B. Rentie of Palo Alto, CA., 2 sisters, 2 brothers, and a host of relatives and friends. A grandmother of seven, and a great-grandmother of five.Eva retired from the field of data entry, in Oakland, CA. Her interests were varied, and she was always up for a good debate regarding current events. Her family remembers her considerable energy, her love for God, family, friends and entertaining.She was a “life member” of the National Council Of Negro Women; member of the Community Baptist Church, San Francisco, CA. for nearly 20 years, prior to moving to Oakland, CA. where she joined Allen Temple Baptist Church in 1978.Viewing will be held Tuesday, October 1st 2002, 1:00 – 5:00pm at the Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 4499 Piedmont Ave. Oakland, CA. 94611. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 2nd 2002 at 11:00 am at the Allen Temple Baptist Church, 8501 International Blvd, Oakland, CA. 94621. Commital will be held immediately following the funeral service at Chapel of the Chimes.
