Emily Zell's Obituary
Emily Zell, age 70, passed gracefully among family and friends October 28th, 2019 at her home in Oakland, California. Emily was born July 1st, 1949 to Milton and Jean Zell in Portland, Oregon and just over three years later became elder sister to Alexandra ‘Zizi’ Zell.
Emily spent the majority of her working years teaching public elementary school. She earned her teaching credentials from Portland State University before relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area. Later she earned her Master’s degree and was a proud alumni of the Wildwood Elementary School teaching staff in Piedmont, CA.
Emily was a dedicated mother to two daughters, Angela and Alexandra D’Avella, and caring step-mom to David, Becky, and Annie Hobbs. She was also a loving grandparent to Amara Sky and Damien. She enjoyed being creative in many different forms, from sewing and knitting to painting and writing. Emily loved her friends, hosting social gatherings, and bringing all kinds of people together. Her vibrant personality is sorely missed.
