Elladonia Lomax's Obituary
Elladonia Adline Lomax (aka Ella, Doan, Gram) was born on December 14, 1929 in New Orleans, LA. Ella endured many hardships in her early years, but even then, she displayed a strong will to live while maintaining a sweet spirit.
In 1942, her family moved to Portland, OR, it was there that she excepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at age 14. From very early in her Christian life, Ella was used mightily in the gifts of the spirit.
After graduating from Jane Addams School in Portland, Ella moved to San Francisco. She worked a variety of jobs before joining the United States Postal Service. After her Retirement from the Post Office, Ella became a Foster Care Parent of children with special needs.
Ella was the mother of two children, Derrick and Rona Lomax. She brought her children up in the fear of the lord teaching them the values of faith, love and determination. She also helped Derrick and his wife Marilyn raise their three children; instituting "Grandmother's Academy" help her grandchildren to become academic achievers.
In 1991, Mother Lomax suffered two strokes that threatened her life. Although she never experienced a full recovery, it never stopped her from loving, serving and praising God. As she grew older, a variety of health issues attacked her body but not her spirit. She Continued to trust God.
Mother Lomax dressed stylishly for church, giving God her best in appearance and worship. She loved beautiful clothes, hats, purses and shoes. She loved cooking, gardening, sewing and traveling with friends and family. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. But she really loved to eat!
On April 23, 2020, Mother Lomax left here praising God with all of her heart, soul, mind and strength! Saying "Thank You Jesus!" When she had completely poured all her heart to Jesus, she went to sleep on earth and woke up in Glory!
