Elinor Muriel Alexander's Obituary
ELINOR MURIEL ALEXANDER passed away in Berkeley, CA on January 22, 2003. She was the loving sister of Carroll R. Alexander who preceded her in death. Her cousins Thomas L. Colvin, Elizabeth O’Connor and Doreen White and her dear friend Delora Pitman, survive her.A native of Salinas, California, she was 89 years of age. She was a member of the American Library Association, California Library Association and the Special Libraries Association. Graduating from Pomona College in 1935, she did graduate work at U. C. Berkeley and the Columbia School of Library Science where she received a Master’s Degree in Library Science. She worked at the New York Public Library, served as school librarian in Salinas, worked at U. C. Library and the California State Library in Sacramento. She was the Legal Librarian at Pillsbury, Madison and Sutro until her retirement.Friends are invited to attend Memorial Services on Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at 1:00PM. Services will be held at the Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue in Oakland. Interment will at the Garden of Memories Memorial Park in Salinas, CA
