Elaine Gallagher PadenOctober 19, 1918- September 13,2002Elaine Paden passed away peacefully on September 13,2002 in Moraga, California at the age of 83. Elaine was born to William Gallagher and Bertha Foley on October 19, 1918 in Oakland, where she was also raised. Elaine was a compassionate mother who led her children’s Brownie and Boy Scout troops. She donated countless hours to a nursery school in Oakland as well as to Children’s Hospital. Elaine enjoyed playing bridge, surrounded by her collection of glass penguins and her two Shih Tzus Mikey and Nunu. Elaine and her late husband Lynn D. Paden were the owners of the 2101 Club in Oakland for many years. Elaine is survived by her daughter Judi Stevens, son Reed Paden, daughter-in-law Kathy, grandchildren Wesley and Valerie all of Oakland, and youngest son Maurice Paden, daughter-in-law Christine, and grandchildren Melisa and Eric all of Pleasant Hill. The lives of Elaine’s family and friends have been touched with unconditional love and encouragement. Elaine’s endless elegance will live in our hearts forever. We love you Grams! ! ! Elaine Paden has requested to be cremated and her ashes spread over the bay in a private service. The family encourages beloved friends to drop a daisy (her favorite flower) in the bay in memory of Elaine.
