Edwin Richard Braski's Obituary
Edwin Richard Braski, was born on November 15, 1926 in Brantwood, Wisconsin. He was the only child of Thomas Edward and Jemina Amelia Braski. He worked as a machine repairman for General Motor Company for 31 years. During those years, he also served in the United States Merchant Marines from April 2, 1945 until January 30, 1947. He retired at the age of 48 and moved to Florida with his wife to enjoy his retired life.
Edwin and his wife, Dorothy Elizabeth Lukkarila, met in 1947 and dated for 2 years. They were married on May 31, 1949 and started their family together in Pontiac, Michigan. They had 4 children; Stephen Richard, Brenda Jean, Alan Eugene and Thomas Wayne. He enjoyed traveling, card games, crossword puzzles, square dancing, fishing, golfing, bowling, playing computer games and his favorite lately was working on jigsaw puzzles.
In November of 2015, Edwin moved to California after his wife passed away so that he could live closer to his son, Thomas. He stayed at an assisted living facility in Hayward. On April 1, 2019, he passed away during an angioplasty procedure after having a minor heart attack. He will be brought back and reunited with his wife in Florida.
Edwin is survived by his three children and daughters-in-law, Brenda Duncan, Alan and Julie Braski, Thomas and Winnie Braski; and three grandchildren, Mark Duncan, Charlene Braski Kwok and grandson-in-law Steven Kwok and Nicole Braski. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Christine Duncan in 1990, his wife, Dorothy Braski in 2015 and his son, Stephen Braski in 2018.
