E. Robert Steimer(Bob) of Alameda, died peacefully on January 14, 2003 with his wife Stella Jean George who loved him deeply and his cherished step-daughter,Lisa R. Stoy at his bedside. The son of the late Earl D. and Mary,(Molly) E. Steimer; brother of the late Thomas J Steimer he leaves behind his belovedsons Gregory T. of Santa Rosa, Marcus A. and daughter-in-law Aimee of Ledyard,CT., as well as a host of friends, co-workers and family members.A lifelong Californian, Bob was born on November 2, 1940. He graduated from Piedmont High School, attained the level of Eagle Schout, served in the U.S.Army and enjoyed a distinguished and long career with Sears Roebuck & Co. He later established and successfully operated his own business, Adept Services,for a number of years before taking a position in government where he most recently held the position of agency Chief Financial Officer.Bob loved life regarding it always with respect, pursuing it with joyfulanticipation while maintaining a keen sense of humor, clear purpose andunassuming dignity. He will be forever missed.Services will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, Ca. In lieu of flowers , the family requests contributions be made in Bob’s memory to the California Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 160087, Sacramento, Ca. or Alameda Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 2534, Alameda, Ca.
