Dorothy Ruth Reid's Obituary
Dorothy was born in Harrisburg, PA and moved to Oakland, CA at the age of 12. She graduated from Castlemont High School in Oakland. She was a long time resident of Pleasanton, CA before moving to Lafayette. She is survived by her son Robert Reid, daughter Kelly Yiannikos as well as her step children Suzanne Siegfried, Dianne Mayeda and Scott Reid. Her grandchildren were the loves of her life. She was grandmother to Jessie, Anna, Cimon, John, Brian S., Brian M., Tyler and Katie. She was a very kind, spiritual woman who always saw the best in people. She gave selflessly to so many throughout her lifetime and will be missed by the many people she touched. Services will be held Sunday, April 26th at 10:00 AM at Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Ave. Oakland, CA. A reception will follow services at 3151 Gloria Terrace Court Lafayette, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
