During the earlier years at Golden Heritage, Doris enjoyed sharing about her home and work. She talked about her 3 sons – a huge blessing/accomplishment for a Chinese woman in that era. She was very proud of her fruit trees in her backyard. They were a testament to her Toishan industriousness, having worked full time outside of her home, took care of her family, and still maintained a productive mini farm to feed her family. She also was very proud of the fact that she was a Christian and that she was a founding member of the Chinese Christian that she attended.

Her given name depicted beauty that draws down goose from the heavens (è½é?ä¹?å®¹). She received high level of education, which was rare at the time. Through her parents, Doris was married to a loving husband, a match made in heaven, or more accurately, a match by God.Godâ??s continued to bless Doris. She was deeply loved by her husband Donald Eng, my beloved God Dad. Furthermore, God blessed Doris and Donald with three loving, respectful and dutiful sons. Despite the many barriers common to immigrants, God gave Doris resilience and love for her family that helped her succeed.While she longed for a daughter, God in His own time gave her four beautiful granddaughters!
