Donna Dolandolan Gutierrez's Obituary
Obituary
“She was always taking care of someone ‘til she couldn’t anymore.”
Donna Dolandolan Gutierrez, age 64 passed away in the early hours of November 4th, 2022. She was born on January 8th, 1958 in Manila, Philippines to Fructoso and Iluminada Dolandolan. She was the third oldest of seven siblings. She worked as a caregiver most of her life and resided in California for more than 30 years.
Donna was a devoted and adoring wife to Mario Gutierrez. She was also a dedicated and hard-working mother to Dyesebel Marie Gutierrez and Maria Christina Gutierrez, raising them both resiliently in a loving home. She was a kind-hearted, selfless, and wonderful daughter, sister, cousin, and friend. But above all, Donna was always a caregiver to all! Her kind and loving soul did not only extend to humans, but to animals as well as she loved Railey, Snow, and Tidus. Her kindness and love was not limited and was felt by so many.
Donna especially loved children and loved them unconditionally. Even after she retired, she was always taking care of kids and treated them as if they were her own grandchildren. In addition to being a caregiver, she also wanted to be a teacher. Her passion to teach children was always clear in how she took care of them – always so thoughtful with the types of activities she would do with them and always so mindful of their time spent together.
Donna also had a love for food and loved to cook and bake, especially for her special loved ones. She took pride in her cooking and always shared its beauty with the rest of the world on Facebook.
Donna was a woman with a heart of gold, who touched so many hearts. She will always be remembered and will be missed by so many.
Mom, “It’s lonesome here without you. We miss you more each day. Life doesn’t seem the same since you have gone away…[But] each time we see your picture, you seem to smile and say, ‘Don’t cry, I’m in God’s hands, we’ll meet again someday!”
Donna is survived by her husband, Mario Gutierrez, and her two daughters, Dyesebel Marie and Christina Maria Gutierrez. There will be a service for those who would like to see her before she is cremated. The viewing will be held on Friday, November 11th, 2022 from 3PM-8PM, and service to follow on Saturday, November 12th, 2022 at Julia Morgan Chapel at the Chapel of the chimes at 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, CA 94611.
