Little Donna. I don't know why I thought of her as little. But that was only a reference to her physical stature. Her spirit was immense. She was a Yoga student of mine for about ten years and she was the most inspiring student I was ever privileded to teach. Every Yoga teacher should have a Donna in their class. Her quiet determination and her good and yes, sometimes risque, humor inspired us all. To the many impaired students in my classes she was a shining example. Time and time again we watched her rally from the setbacks MS would deal her. She would be back with a wonderful smile that seemed to say, "see I knew I could do it." She told me that the great good fortune of her life was Jim. He was the man of her dreams. She led her life well and we'll all miss her.Raleigh
Your bright and beautiful spirit will be missed, Donna. You have been such a good friend to Chris and a part of the Gray family for so long – all the memories, you and Chris in high school (getting into mischief – my lips are sealed), in college, your apt in Oakland, and then you pregnant with Kelly, being such a wonderful mom – I could go on. And always lots of laughter. I am going to think of you and Mom up there together laughing, singing and watching over us. Love and peace, JoAna
Donna was so generous in letting a group of us practice with her at her home during the Accessible Yoga Teacher Training. I have fond memories of the afternoons with Donna as we practiced yoga and I'll miss those times we had together. Om Shanti.
My very dearest forever friend. From our early days as freshman in high school in Sacramento where we played, studied and cut class and got in mischief together (much to my fatherÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢s chagrin), and the times we shared after you joined me at UC Berkeley, the funny funky apartment we shared after graduation to our more recent stays at spas in Ojai and in Mexico (attending swim classes and practicing yoga), and our explorations of Costa Rica Ã?¢ââ??‰â?¬Å? and all the days in between that we shared. I will always, always cherish the memories of our times together. You were my friend and you made my life better with your love, laughter and brightness of spirit. I will always miss you and I am glad that you are at peace. I love you and will always keep you in my heart.
Hi Friends and family, so sad to be writing for this occasion. I was shocked to hear my friend Donna had passed away, it seems as if I just saw her walking in Montclair village not long ago? I was happy to get to know Donna , I feel like she was a warrior in the face of life's challenges, health issues and otherwise. We became friends during the Piedmont Yoga "deep yoga" program. We studied together and taught class together and had wonderful afternoons practicing yoga at her beautiful house in the Oakland Hills. She and her husband generously hosted our graduation party at their home .She loved yoga and it provided a lot of relief for her, I know this because we use to talk about it's benefits all the time! She was a good teacher too. I remember as I nervously taught my first class in summer after graduation with Donna and Charles how confident she was with our students. I found out later she'd been doing it for a while and her connection with her students was evident.I love Chapel of the Chimes, it's a beautiful , peaceful place and I'm happy Donna is being remembered there. It is a special place for a special woman. I'm so sorry to be out of town and miss coming to pay my respects, so I'm glad there is a place to write down my thoughts. Thanks for that. I'll be doing yoga in Kripalu and Donna, this one's for you! NamasteJoy
You and your husband hosted the graduation party for our Deep Yoga program. I remember the quite moment we had alone at the end of the party when we sat at your kitchen's island and finished left-over salad. We talked about teaching yoga and how much your students meant to you. How the solace of your yoga practice gave your mind the courage and strength to deal with your body's ailment. Thank you for the wonderful insight into your kindness and compassion. You will be missed. Namaste
I am so very sad you are no longer with us. You will be sadly missed. With all that you had to deal with you shared so much of yourself to make us all stronger and more peaceful. May peace be with your loved ones. Your spirit is strong and will remain alive in all of us.Namaste
Peace
