Seid, Donald M's Obituary
Don Seid, 96, San Francisco-born and longtime resident of Richmond, CA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by those he loved and who loved him the most, his family. A beloved husband, father, grandfather (Gung Gung), brother and uncle, he is survived by his wife of 72 years Mary, daughters Donna and Karin, son Kirby (Hillary), granddaughter Lily (Cory), grandson Will, former son-in-law David, sister Barbara (Dan), sister-in-law Beate, brother-in-law Edwin, and many other relatives. He was preceded in death by brothers Robert and Jimmy and sister Mildred.
Don Seid was an honorable man and devoted husband and father who always showed unconditional love and support to his family. An accomplished corrosion engineer (Shell Oil Company and Bechtel Corporation), loyal lifelong friend to many, and proud UC Berkeley alumnus and U.S. Marine veteran, he also loved traveling; playing golf, bridge, and mahjong; watching action films and sports (especially football); and fishing. His family will be forever grateful––he is loved and is dearly missed.
A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, 1 October, at 10:45 am at Chapel of the Chimes. If you’d like to make a donation in our beloved father’s memory, he expressed that donations be made to the Veterans Administration, Northern California Health Care System (VA NCHCS). The family is grateful for this organization which supported him and his family throughout the years. https://www.va.gov/northern-california-health-care/work-with-us/volunteer-or-donate/ Mailing address: VA Northern California Health Care System, CDCE 135, 10535 Hospital Way, Mather, CA 95655-4200
