Offering sincere condolences to the family, I am so very sorry for your loss. I do not know you all but I couldn't help but smile as I read Mr. Jackson's obituary. He seemed like a wonderful person who was dearly loved by friends and family. Loosing someone is one of the hardest things to go through because it was never part of our Heavenly Fatherâ??s original purpose for mankind. In fact, in His word the Bible He calls it an enemy (1Cor. 15:26) which He promises in the very near future to do away with (Rev. 21:4,5) At that time tragedies and accidents will be a thing of the past, no one will ever get sick (Isaiah 33:24) and there will be a reuniting, a bringing back to life instead of losing (John 5:28,29) Please allow these words to be of comfort to you and give you hope. (2Cor. 1:3,4)

I worked with Don in O&M 4 a number of years but knew him as a brother & friend. The now departed Deborah Thompson & I planned & executed his retirement from EBMUD with the assistance of his family. He had a ball & we were happy 2 do this because we LUV'd Don;-) We stayed good friends after his retirement & saw each other @ different events over the years. Don was REAL! There was no pretense about him & his honesty was one of the things I LUV'd most about him. That & his zest 4 life. He was one of those larger than life people & his departure leaves a huge hole in the world;-)

I worked with Don Jackson during his tenure at EBMUD. He was one of the very few Managers that took the time to coach, educate and counsel his staff. Bright, energetic, well spoken and a rapier sharp wit. I will remember his laughter, generousity and how much I learned from him.

My special friend and I spent a lovely evening with Don & Stephanie several holiday seasons ago at the company Holiday party – drinking and talking until 2 a.m. We walked away knowing that we had met a true gentleman and all around wonderful human being.
