Delores J. Ridges' Obituary
Delores Jean Ridges was born to Sharper Ridges II and Margaret (Freeman) Ridges in West Chester Pennsylvania on February 12, 1941. She moved to Columbus Ohio with her brother Sharper (Roy) Ridges III, and mother in the winter of1948. In Columbus she attended Douglas Elementary, Mohawk and Franklin Jr. High School, and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1958. She received Christ when she was a teenager in high school and was baptized at Saint Dominic Catholic Church.
After 33 years of service, she retired from Ohio Department of Health as Chief, Grants Management Unit in April 1998. While employed at the Health Department, she obtained a BS degree in Business Administration from Franklin University.
After retirement she traveled extensively meeting people of various cultures and learning about customs in other countries. She enjoyed visiting her daughter in California where she resided in 2009.
Preceded in death by father, Sharper Ridges II, mother Margaret Pyles, grandmother Iva Rose Preston and brother Sharper Roy Ridges,Jr.
She is survived by her beloved daughter Tanjia D. Kirkling, sister Donna (Pyles) Gossett, Ex-Brother-in-Law, Ronnie Gossett Sr., niece Ronnette Gossett,1st cousin Tyrie Gossett, nephews Ronnie Gossett Jr., David Gossett, and Bradley Ridges.
