Delmar R. Smith's Obituary
Delmar was born on Aug 3, 1917 to Leland and Margaret Smith in San Francisco, Ca. He was one of four children and the middle child of two brothers and one sister. He attended public school in San Francisco and graduate from Galileo High School in 1935.
Delmar was a lover of music and played professionally at local clubs in the city. He also enjoyed photography and would often take pictures of special events and at family gatherings. Delmar also liked to work with his hands was a good handyman and car mechanic.
He married Audrey Smith through that union one child was born; Delmar Smith, Jr.
Delmar worked for many years for the San Francisco Transportation Agency-Muni as their Supplies Supervisor. He retired and moved to Oakland, Ca. were he resided until his passing on Aug 22, 2016.
Delmar leaves behind one son Delmar Smith Jr., three nieces, Nelva Jane Terrell, Aaliyah Akbar-Taha and Tootie Smith, a nephew Leland Hamilton, five great nieces Michelle Landrum, Carla Pegues, Toni Randle, Shawnda Terrell, Yolanda Uroz, and several great -great nieces to cherish his memory.
