Cynthia Victorian-Hockenhull's Obituary
Our beloved Cynthia Marie Victorian-Hockenhull was born July 4, 1958 to Johnnie Mae St. Julian and Seward Victorian. She always said she came in with a bang! Cynthia was born and raised in Oakland, Ca where she attended school and graduated from Patten Academy. Growing up Cynthia loved skating, Double Dutch, and enjoying time with her siblings. She gave life to the Lord at an early age and rededicated her life later on. After high school, Cynthia attended boot camp for the United States Army. She also attended school for cosmetology where she received her license. In her early twenties, Cynthia married Jackie Bolton and from that union came Jacqueline and Constance. She took pride in being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. Years later Cynthia found a partner in Troy Williams and together had her youngest daughter, Patience.
During a difficult time in her life, Cynthia lived a life of survival on the streets of Oakland. Her favorite hangout was Old Man Park. There she met her life partner Rufus Hockenhull. Together they were a force to be reckoned with. It was her true love story. Cynthia and Rufus took care of each other until his passing. If you had asked Cynthia about this time in her life, she would reply “no regrets.” From then on Cynthia lived her life being a great mother and grandmother.
Throughout her life Cynthia made many lasting friendships, including gaining a Goddaughter Corliss Dunn. Cynthia had a way of smiling like no other. She always opened up her home and heart to others. If it was up to her, she would give you the world. She always had a good spirit and even in the midst of her health challenges she always joked, smiled, and laughed along the way. You could always find her with cold beer, watching cartoons or watching her favorite comedians Berny Mac and Kat Williams.
Cynthia leaves behind her daughters Jacqueline, Constance, Patience, son-in-law Jerry, grandchildren Rahsaan, Rochea, Rhyle, Armani, Ameer, Clyde and one great-grand daughter Raelynn. She also leaves behind her brother Lebrando Douglass, Sister Setanya Douglass, brothers David, Matine, Kenneth, and Seward-Rocky Victorian, her extended family Corliss Dunn and children, as well as a host of many other family and friends.
As she would say, "Never bye, but see you later!"
