Corinne Weiss Edmonson's Obituary
Corinne Weiss Edmonson, age 84, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 21, 2018 in Castro Valley, California. She is survived by her sons Erik and Spencer Larson, her brother Harvey Weiss, her grandchildren Natalie, Vanessa, and Mateo Larson, and her nieces and nephew Tim Weiss, Julie Opheim, and Jan Dehning. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Walter “Jody” Edmonson, her parents Frank and Cora Weiss, and her ex-husband and father of her children Rodney Larson.
Originally from Le Center, Minnesota, she spent most of her life as a resident of the Bay Area. Corinne spent 40 years as a nurse, including a decades-long tenure at Kaiser Hospital in Oakland, where she served in various capacities. She went to nursing school in Rochester Minnesota at the Mayo clinic and received her BS in Nursing Education at Holy Names College in Oakland. She was an avid traveler and an adventurous spirit, with a particular love of the British Isles. Strong-willed and not shy, she was a significant presence in the lives of her many friends and family. She was one of a kind and will not be forgotten.
A memorial mass will be held at St Mary’s Church in Walnut Creek on Mt Diablo Blvd on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 1130 a.m. A remembrance ceremony will also be held in Le Center, Minnesota in the summer of 2019.
