Cora Elaine Watkins' Obituary
Cora Elaine Watkins, 75, of Oakland, Ca passed away on November 14, 2024. Cora Elaine was born to Roscoe Smith, Sr. and Eula Mae Walker on September 21, 1949 in San Francisco, Ca.
Elaine, as she was fondly known, worked as a Service Representative for 30 years before retiring from Pacific Bell/At&T in 2002. Sister Elaine was an active member of Acts Full Gospel Church and humbly served on the church’s HealThy Temple Ministry.
Elaine grew up in the Lakeview District of SF. She graduated from Balboa High School. She attended City College of SF to pursue a career in Nursing. This goal changed when she began working for Pacific Bell. Elaine met James Watkins, Jr. and they were married. The couple share a daughter, Lakesha Danyelle Aarif, Elaine’s only child.
Elaine is survived by daughter, Lakesha, son-in-law, Aswad, grandsons Caleb, Aslam and Rashad, and great granddaughter A’Niyah, sister, Diane Wilson, brothers Leonard, David, and Derrick Smith, and lots of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Eula Mae, former husband, James, siblings Martha, Roscoe,Jr., Willard, and Rosemary.
The family has entrusted Chapel of the Chimes with final arrangements. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for December 5, 2024 at 11 am at Acts Full Gospel COGIC.
Dr. Doris Limbrick will officiate the ceremony.
A reception will follow at Everett & Jones in Jack London Square.
