Christopher Graber's Obituary
Christopher M. Graber
Aug 30, 1976 – Jan 26, 2018
Christopher Matthew Graber was born in Greenbrae, CA. He grew up in Berkeley, California and graduated from Berkeley High. Chris attended both Foothill College and UC Santa Cruz where he majored in Biology. Chris passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 41. He was a lover of the outdoors and old cars. He worked a variety of jobs and was always well-liked in each of them. Whether riding a seal coat machine like a king or acting as deckhand extraordinaire in the bayous of Louisiana, he brought passion to his work. He pulled weeds with zest and his inquiring mind knew no bounds. Chris was a veracious reader. He read every book he could get his hands on. Chris had many interests and had something interesting to say on nearly any topic, but never pushed his opinions on others. He was incredibly open-minded and was able to see both sides of most everything. He loved science as well as sports. All of his many animal friends were always rescues. He was a compassionate man who loved to give back to his community. Chris was an avid eater. He could take hours eating a single meal; never hurrying and never stopping. He occasionally ate breakfast upside-down until one October when he noticed it made all the leaves fall off the trees. He loved to ride his little bike while wearing his little hat. He loved to explore parks and the open road. But, most of all, he loved his family. His beautiful wife Sonja and his two beautiful children, Kajsa and Max, were his world. Chris is also survived by his father, Miles and his brother, Ben. He will be missed by many. Services will be held on Feb.17th at 1 pm at the Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, CA 94611 in the Chimes Chapel.
