Christine Marie Raffetto's Obituary
Obituary for Christine Marie Raffetto
Christine Marie Raffetto, beloved wife, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, in the arms of her devoted wife.
Born on December 20, 1952, at St. Francis Hospital in San Francisco, Chris was the middle daughter of Richard and Barbara—affectionately known as Dick and Babs. A proud San Francisco native, she carried her Italian heritage and her Democratic values with unmistakable pride throughout her life.
Chris' early years were shaped by the city she loved. She attended Star of the Sea for grammar school and later attended college at the University of San Francisco. Her professional life was rooted in service and community: she worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco and retired from St. Mary's after 25 years of service. She also contributed to the family business.
For 41 years, Chris and her wife Denise built a life defined by humor, unwavering devotion, partnership, and love. Together, they formed a bond that was both tender and unbreakable—a true team in every sense.
Chris' passions were as heartfelt as they were meaningful. She was an avid reader, a loyal friend, and a fierce advocate for animals and the environment. Her circle of friends—whom she considered her extended family—was small but deeply cherished. She was known for her generosity, her warmth, and an incredible sense of humor that could light up any room. Animals gravitated toward her gentle spirit, and people did too.
She touched countless lives with her kindness and authenticity. Chris leaves behind her loving wife Denise, her father‑in‑law, her sisters, nieces, nephews, and her many dear friends who will forever hold her memory close.
Chris left this world liberated onto her next journey, with Denise’s hand in hers. Though her physical presence has departed, the love she gave so freely continues to ripple outward. Chris sprit will be transitioned in to one of her favorite animals that she held so dear.
In lieu of flowers, Denise asks that donations be made to your favorite animal or environmental charity—an offering that reflects Christine’s lifelong compassion and the causes she held closest to her heart.
May her memory be a blessing, and may her laughter echo in the hearts of all who knew her.
