Chiyeko Responte's Obituary
Chiyeko Responte age 98 of San Leandro died peacefully at her home on April 14, 2018. Born on June 3, 1919 in the then farming community of Mt Eden (now Hayward) she went on to graduate from Amador High School in Pleasanton.
She worked on her parent’s farm. She also worked as a cannery worker for Del Monte. But most importantly she was wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to our family. Chi is preceded in death by her husband Juanicio B. Responte (1979) and daughter Carmen L. Responte (1961). She is survived by her children Marsha Desiderio, Richard Responte, Gary Responte, Anita Rodrigues, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. As well, she was aunt to two nieces and a nephew and their families.
Our beloved Mother Chi, had the proverbial green thumb. She had nurtured her garden as she had nurtured all of us. She will be dearly missed.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday May 3rd, at Chapel of the Chimes
Piedmont in the Chimes Chapel.
