Chhang Chao's Obituary
Chhang Chao passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014 in a nursing home, in San Leandro, California after suffering from a stroke.
Chhang Chao was born the eldest among five siblings in Chher Teal Commune, Banon District, Battambang Province, Cambodia on February 24, 1935. He worked as a businessman and fathered six children, with his wife, who sadly passed away in March of 1979.
Chhang emigrated in 1982 to America with his six children and relatives where he worked hard to lay the foundation for his children to lead successful lives. He also found happiness again in 1985 when he remarried Hungmy Ly. Chhang Chao was a kind-hearted, dependable, and brave
man; he loved and cared immensely for his family and friends, and was loved and cared for in return.
As a prominent member of the Oakland Cambodian Buddhist Temple and Cambodian Community, Chhang Chao will be greatly missed by the many people he touched in his life. Chhang Chao is survived by his wife, Hungmy, his children : Allen, Yean, Richard, Jenny, Lean, Thang, their families, and eleven grandchildren.
