Charlotte Fong Tse's Obituary
Charlotte Fong Tse, 72, of Oakland, California, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2023.
She was born in Shanghai, China on September 3, 1951 to Wellington L.C. Fong and Margery Chun. Charlotte spent her early childhood years in Shanghai and eventually moved to Hong Kong in the late 1960s for her high school education. She graduated from True Light Girls’ College in Hong Kong and worked in Overseas Trust Bank for over 15 years prior to settling down in San Francisco with her husband and daughter.
Charlotte met her husband, Stephen, in Hong Kong and were joined in marriage on October 24, 1971. They have one daughter, Magnolia. Throughout her time in the Bay Area, Charlotte continued to be a devoted member of The Episcopal Church of Our Savior in Oakland. She also had a passion for volunteering, often helping at the church (which she considered her community) and at the Oakland Public Library as well in her earlier years.
She is predeceased by her husband, Stephen Tse, survived by her brother, Fred Fong, her daughter Magnolia Tse and spouse William Tsu, and her granddaughter Kelly Tsu.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30am, January 15th, 2024, at Chapel of the Chimes Oakland, 4499 Piedmont Ave, Oakland, CA 94611.
