Carolyn Crocket's Obituary
Carolyn Nell Crocket was born Feb. 6, 1937 in Albany, California, and passed in Oakland on Oct. 29, 2023. She was 86. Carolyn was a lifelong resident of Piedmont, California, and a graduate of Piedmont High School in 1955. After high school Carolyn worked to help people to plan trips, sparking her love of travel. She later accepted a secretarial position at Standard Oil of California (now Chevron) and rose through the ranks to become the Executive Assistant of the CEO, a position she held until she retired. Carolyn was a third-generation member of P.E.O., a philanthropic organization dedicated to furthering the education of women, a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Orinda, and involved with the Masons, as part of a long family history.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Will Gray (Bill) Crocket in 1981 and Bernice Estelle (Bernie) Austin Crocket Hansen in 1999. She is survived by her longtime partner of 20 years William Kelly Hope, her brother Will Gray Crocket II (Sandra), nieces Alexandra Crocket (Andrew Stephens), Catherine Crocket (Brandon Barela), and Kylie Crocket (Sotaro Yamaguchi), and caregiver and friend Andre Brown. She leaves behind a legacy of lifelong friendships, including some that began when they played together as toddlers, staying in touch all through the years.
