Carl Warren Wasson's Obituary
Chip Wasson of Oakland, CA, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2018 with his family at his bedside. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Schenk and his sons Spencer and Tyler Schenk-Wasson (Kelsey Patterson-Hall).
Chip is the son of Mary Margaret Moser and Carl Wayne Wasson, both deceased, and the brother of Lynne Wasson (deceased) and Mary Beth Wasson.
Born on January 17, 1952, Chip lived in Topeka, KS until he joined the Army, serving as a medic in Germany during the Viet Nam era. Upon his return to Topeka, he met the love of his life, Elizabeth, and the couple relocated to the Bay Area in 1980.
He retired in 2016 after working with the U.S. General Services Administration for 35 years as an Information Systems Analyst, Database Administrator, and Area Telecommunications Manager.
Chip was a wonderful cook, an avid reader, and a science fiction aficionado. He enjoyed cultural and theatrical events and had a deep love of every kind of music, especially jazz.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 5th at 1:00 pm at the Bellevue Club, Mural Lounge, 4th floor- 525 Bellevue Ave., Oakland, CA 94610.
