Brenda M. LeBoa's Obituary
Brenda Marie (Richards) LeBoa, 75, of Oakland, passed away by her husband’s side on October 7, 2014, after a courageous battle with mesothelioma. Brenda was born in Oakland, CA, on September 22,1939. She was predeceased by her mother and stepfather, Jean and Erling Ericksen and her father, Louis Richards. On June 18, 1961 she married Don LeBoa. Brenda’s nursing career began in 1960 when she graduated from Highland Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as an RN in Reno NV, Ukiah, Ventura, San Leandro, and Oakland, and retired in 1997. Brenda is survived by her husband of 53 years Don, her four sons Donnie Jr., Carl (Mychele), Brent (Linda), and Eric (Theresa), her three grandsons Louis, Christopher and Tyler, her sister Debbie, her brothers Jack, Stewart, and Steve, her stepbrothers Rennie and Elmer, her stepsister Eleanor, and her best friend Kathi. Brenda loved spending time with family and friends, taking walks, gardening, traveling, reading, and swimming and fishing at her lake house. She also was an active volunteer, working as a docent at the Oakland Museum, and as a volunteer for their annual White Elephant Sale.
The LeBoa family would like to thank the Kaiser Hospice team for their 22 months of love and wonderful care for Brenda.
Family and friends are invited to attend the memorial service on Sunday, November 9th, at 3:00pm, at Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Ave., Oakland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (or other cancer charity of your choice), the wonderful Kaiser Hospice Program, the Oakland Museum, or the Salvation Army.
