Bobby L. McDowell Sr.'s Obituary
Bobby Lee McDowell Sr. was born December 17, 1944 in Lake Charles Louisiana. He would call Sour Lake, Texas and Omaha, Nebraska home before moving to California, where he met his wife Cleo "Marie" Jones. Married in 1971, Bobby and Marie would share over five beautiful decades together in the Bay Area. While raising their son, Bobby McDowell Jr., Bobby Sr. worked as a Train Operator for Bay Area Rapid Transit.
His strong work ethic, contagious laugh, and crisp starched shirts are celebrated to this day. After retiring in 2013, the ever-active Bobby Sr. kept busy with plenty of passions: walking, traveling, working out, listening to jazz, gospel, and his oldies but goodies, and of course, grooming his IMMACULATE yard. Armed with a broom and a mission, Bobby struck fear in the veins of any loose leaves surrounding his slice of paradise.
Now that he's ascended on April 13, 2024 to his heavenly paradise, his ultimate love: his family and friends, cherish the dear memories of a man who is larger than life.
Bobby is mourned by his wife of 53 years Cleo Marie McDowell, son Bobby McDowell Jr., daughter-in-law Carolyn McDowell, granddaughters Ramie McDowell and Ashley Lewis, great-grandson Noah Lewis, brother Wilbert McDowell Jr. ,sister-in-law Virginia McDowell, and countless nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousin, and wonderful friends. He will be joining his mother Maebelle Robinson, stepfather George Robinson, brother Johnny McDowell, father Wilbert McDowell Sr., his grandparents, in laws, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He will truly be missed. We love you Bobby!!! May you rest in peace.
