In gratitude, we offer this incense. May its sweet fragrance attract the spirit of the great compassionate bodhisattva Avalokitesvara to our gathering.
Avallokitsvara, Please be a guide for those who journey on the way, for those who wish to cross the waters, to reach beyond pain. Please, be for them a raft, a boat, a bridge.
May you be an isle for those departed who yearn for land.
May you be a lamp for those who long for the healing light, for those departed and those distressed who need a resting place, may you be a refuge, a home.
Great compassionate Avalokitesvara.
Please accept our sincere offerings.
Please help to liberate the sentient beings who have passed and departed their physical lives, and those who are on a healing journey in this life.
May they be released from their suffering and attain liberation.
We aspire to and worship your vision and your vow, so that Betty and all other sentient beings may be liberated from suffering, so that they may overcome all obstacles, all hindrances, to be safe, to be happy, to be at peace, to be free!
May this prayer provide eternal companionship for them.
May the blessings of our teachers and ancestors lead them on their way. May their relatives and companions proceed with them on their way.
My dear friend and spiritual sister, now you can be evrywhere!

With love in our hearts, we honor the life of Betty a devoted mother, cherished sister, and a beautiful soul who radiated kindness wherever she went.
Betty lived by the values of compassion, acceptance, and spiritual grace. She understood people deeply — without judgment — and made everyone feel seen and valued. Her greatest joy was her only daughter, Penny — lovingly calling her “Precious,” because she was truly a miracle. Betty nurtured her life with encouragement, strength, and unwavering devotion, embracing every moment of motherhood with gratitude and love.
To her family, Betty was a source of peace — especially to me, her brother. We shared a unique and sacred bond rooted in spirituality and a shared belief in the goodness of all people. We could talk for hours about life, faith, and supporting one another through difficult or uncertain times. We lifted each other’s spirits, feeding one another with love, hope, and understanding. She honored me by recognizing how deeply I love our entire family — and she always appreciated the way I tried to keep everyone connected and uplifted. We celebrated our family together, encouraging love and togetherness in every season of life.
Betty’s presence was a reminder that gentleness is a strength, kindness is a choice, and love is the most powerful gift we can give. Her laughter, sincerity, and calming wisdom will remain with us always — a light that continues to guide us forward.
We celebrate her life with deep gratitude — for the love she shared, the comfort she offered, and the grace she embodied every day. Her spirit lives on through Penny and through all of us who were blessed to walk beside her.
May her soul rest in peace, embraced by the eternal love she gave so effortlessly.

People would always say how much my mom and I look alike! Here is a picture of the two of us when I was a teenager. I am so grateful to have grown up so close with her.
This picture of Mom and her sisters with Grandma Teeny was on her dresser. There is a closeness that they all shared no matter the distance, and a true joy when they were together. I am so grateful for the gift of family, of kindness, and of love that they all shred with us.
Aunt Betty and her sister, my mother Mary on Easter many years ago...❤❤
Still hard to believe you are actually gone.
You had the biggest heart ever and were always there for everybody, family and friends. My children and even my Grandchildren…all of us. I know I speak for anybody that knew you, you had the best hugs ever and you will be greatly missed!
You were 13 when we met for the first time. You held me in the car as my mother (your sister) brought me (a newborn) home from the hospital. I will always remember you telling me you fell in love with me, staring into my big blue eyes on that first day we met. These eyes, that cry now and every time I think of you.
There are so many memories. Where do I start?
I remember being introduced to the church at a young age by you. So very thankful for that.
I remember you taking all of us kids to the park for picnics or the beach after church and then A&W afterwards. So fun.
I remember the birthday parties. You loved to celebrate us, letting us know how important we were.
I remember the hair curling and dying sessions with Grandma and your sisters when I was young and we all lived together. You were very patient with me doing those pin curls in my hair, on Saturday nights before Church.
I remember you coming over on the weekends to try on my mother’s clothes.
Tons of memories in my head that I hope I never forget.
You had such a big heart and family was very important to you. I will always be grateful for you taking me in when I needed help. I know it was not easy, we went through a lot! I am also happy I was able to tell you that while you were still alive. You were such a blessing! Always have been and always will be.
I love you with all my heart Betty and I miss our chats and your hugs. It meant so much to me and you always had the best memory and could share stories like no other. Two days before you passed, I had the urge to call you but got busy and forgot. I’m sorry. I will always regret that. I want to hear your voice again. Is that selfish of me? I really, really miss you!
You have taught me so much in life but I still have many questions. I know you are in a better place now and are with your sisters and Mother dancing away.
We have been blessed to have you in our lives. You were an angel here on earth and now our guardian angel.
I love you Betty and always will. Rest in peace, in God’s arms!!
