Betty Ann Penny's Obituary
I am the door. By me if any man enter in, he shall be saved…
Life began for Betty Penny on January 11, 1933, in Eldorado, Arkansas. Betty was a bright star to Sister Mary Neal Maker, who introduced her to the church and united with Morning Star Baptist Church, Eldorado, Arkansas, at an early age.
Betty attended elementary and High School in Eldorado, and upon completing high school, she moved to Detroit, Michigan, and later to Berkeley, California.
Betty married her love, “Penny”. After many years, Betty and Penny divorced, but Betty stayed and maintained a career with the University of Berkley, where she retired after many years.
Betty had many close friends (Sister Friends) in Berkley who cherished their relationship and the fun times they shared. The great friendship lasted until the day Jesus knocked on her door and welcomed her home on February 20, 2026.
The people who hold her in their hearts:
Her California Sister Friends & Cousins
Nieces & Nephews
Mose (Doris) Hammock & Family
Deborah Sauls & Family
Terri (Earl) Jarrett & Family
Kenneth (Bernadette) Hammock & Family
Love is constant, and we can never forget the love we shared, nor can we list the many people who shared our love for our Aunt Betty.
You shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and he will say, “Here I am”.
