Betty Maxine McPherson's Obituary
Betty Maxine McPherson, of Hayward CA, passed away peaceful with her family by her side on Monday, January 22, 2018. She was born in Oakland on July 26, 1924 and married Russell “Mac” McPherson on March 23,1944.
Betty, was a long-time resident of Hayward where she and Mac settled to raised their family. Betty was known to consider any child part of her family, she fed all the neighborhood children, friends of her children and their children. If you needed a place to sleep, someone to talk to or a loving hug. Betty was happy to take you in and give you love in any way she could. Betty also loved animals and enjoyed reading, gardening, handwork and Brain teasers.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband and is survived by her loving family, daughters Cindy McPherson Caulboy of Hayward, CA and Mary Catherine McPherson of Dana Point, CA; five grandchildren Angela Caulboy, Bryan (Becky) Caulboy, Tara (Jose) Caulboy, Steven (Lori) Caulboy, and Vincent McPherson; Nine great grandchildren, Dylan, Jordan, Brenden, Bella, Drea, Cristiano, Damian, Evie, and Dorian. Betty was also blessed with a host of extended family, friends and caretakers that loved her dearly.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Betty’s life on Friday, February 2, 2018 with a visitation from 11am-1pm and a Funeral Service at 1pm. All services will be held at Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, CA 94611. Betty will be privately laid to rest with her husband at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Doctors Without Borders.
