Betty Jayne Knigge March 26, 1917 ' August 24, 2009 Resident of Walnut Creek Betty Jayne Knigge, 92, resident of Walnut Creek, passed away on August 24. She was born on March 26, 1917, in Syracuse, Nebraska and graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. Betty married Milton 'Whitey' Knigge and they had three daughters. The family moved to California in 1952. Betty, who was happiest when she was with her family, was the beloved mother of Cheryl Taber of San Anselmo and Dianne Schmidt of Berkeley; dear grandmother of Sean Sharp of Montana, Robyn Sharp of La Jolla, Shelly Sharp of San Mateo, Jason Crapo of Oakland, Kirsten Van Wolferen of Colorado and Andrew Edwards of Orinda; loving great-grandmother of Steven, Justin and Devin Sharp of Montana, Eric and Darien Malekos of San Mateo, Charles Mason of La Jolla and Julien Van Wolferen of Colorado; and dear sister of Hal Hill of Bakersfield. Betty was preceded in death by her husband and their daughter, Susan Knigge. Friends are invited to call from 2 pm to 3 pm and attend funeral services at 3 pm on Friday, September 4, at the Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue in Oakland.
