Beatrice Page, born on December 17, 1944, in Medenhall, Mississippi, departed this world on August 1, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and selfless service. She was the beloved daughter of Johnny Lee and Aletha Page and was the spirited, independent, middle child of the family. From an early age, Beatrice exhibited a zest for life and a yearning to explore beyond her southern roots. After graduating from high school in 1963, she ventured to Oakland, California, where she embarked on a new chapter with hope and determination. It was in this vibrant city that she met William Harrison, a devoted father of two, and they married in 1968, blending their lives and hearts.
Together, Beatrice and William built a beautiful life, welcoming their cherished daughter and establishing a loving home. They co-founded and operated Bill & Bea's Board and Care Home, a venture that spanned over 50 years and became a cornerstone of their community. Through their dedication, they provided care and compassion to countless individuals, reflecting their deep commitment to serving others.
Beatrice was a pillar of strength and devotion, not only to her family but also to her faith. She was a prayer warrior, steadfast in her commitment to doing God's will. Her involvement with Equator Faith Mission, under the leadership of Bishop Joseph Wigfall, was a testament to her unwavering dedication. She worked tirelessly behind the scenes, organizing clothing and food drives, and spearheading fundraising efforts to support missions across the globe. Her heart was as generous as her spirit was vibrant, always seeking to uplift and support those in need.
Known for her warmth and quick wit, Beatrice had a unique ability to make those around her feel loved. Her culinary creations, particularly her cakes and sweet potato, and lemon condensed pies, were famous among family and friends. She loved to share her recipes, wisdom, and quick witted jabs.
Beatrice's life was deeply intertwined with love and family. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, William L. Harrison, whose memory remains a treasured part of her story. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her daughter, Sophia (Ray) Allen; her stepdaughter, Vickie Shree; and stepson, Carlton (Tanicia) Harrison. Her family includes eight adoring grandchildren: Karl (Robin) Reid, Kendrick (Michelle) Harrison, Emani (Jesse) Luna, Kobe and Devyn Allen, Cayla Harrison, Brandon (Queeta) Harrison, and Kendall Harrison. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, who were the joy of her later years.
Her legacy extends beyond her immediate family to her two sisters-in-law, Delores Royal and Mae Alice Bashmein, and her brother-in-law, Paul Anderson. Beatrice's impact on her extended family and a host of nieces and nephews will be fondly remembered and cherished.
