Barbara Ann Washington's Obituary
Barbara Ann Washington, 64, passed away on January 12th, 2017 in Oakland, Ca surrounded by her friends and family.
Barbara was born in Pittsburg, Ca to Marjorie Washington and Isaac Samuel Taylor. Barbara grew up in Newport News, Virginia where she attended Newsom Park Elementary and George Washington Carver High School, where she graduated in 1970. She worked in the banking industry for a number of years at various banks including Wells Fargo. She also worked for the Solid Foundation and volunteered at Christian Women Supporting Women where she was still an active volunteer up until the time of her death. . She went on to pursue her career with the Postal Service, where she retired in August of 2016.
She is survived by her husband, Pedro Ellis, her mother Marjorie Taylor, her daughter Marnissa D. Wilson of Burnsville, Mn, her sons Baron V. Wilson of Emeryville, Ca and Michael M. Wilson (Cheri) of Esparto, CA; her grandchildren Lamont Woods, Jumani Wilson, Jaden Wilson, Jadiyah Wilson, Kiara Wilson, Keyon Wilson, Keynon Wilson, Kiaja Wilson, and Keydren Wilson; siblings Paulette Jones of Charlotte, NC; Marjorie Taylor of Newport News, Va; Cynthia Johnson (Ernest) of Hartford, Ct; Keith Taylor (Pamela) of Newport News, VA; Isaac Taylor of Baltimore, MD; an uncle George Washington (Doris) of Hampton, VA; and many nephews, nieces and cousins
Barbara was preceded in death by her father Isaac Taylor, an uncle Allen Washington, an aunt Rose Hunt, a sister Harriet Taylor and grandson Jumari Wilson.
A Celebratory Gathering will be held Monday, January 23, 2017 from 2:30 to 4:30 in the reception area of Chapel of the Chimes.
