She was the ultimate cookie lady. She baked chocolate chip cookies and handed them to Leslie and me while we were hula hooping to set a new record of continuous twirling time and get our names in the Oakland Tribune newspaper. She reached over our twirling hula hoops to do so and didn't touch them or interfere with our sustained time.
