Barbara Ann Davis
Barbara Ann Davis (affectionately known as 'Bobbie') was born May 3, 1945, in Gary, Indiana, yet lived in Alexandria, Louisiana with her parents KV James, Margaree James and her brother, Robert E. James.
Barbara later moved to Oakland, California with her family where she attended Elmhurst Middle School and later graduated from Castlemont High School. She met and married her childhood sweetheart, Charles Edward Davis in June 1962. From their glorious union, three children were born; Derrell Gerard Davis, Sharell Suzette Davis, and Shaundel Edward Davis.
Barbara was baptized at a young age, and she re-dedicated her life to the Lord and received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1982 at the Upper Room Church, Oakland, CA. She later became a member of Acts Full Gospel COGIC in 1984 where she was a faithful member. Barbara was baptized at Acts and she loved to work in ministry as an usher, serving as President of the usher board for four years. She was a member of the witnessing team, and had a great passion for witnessing and sharing God’s Word to everyone. She was incredibly giving and loving, and she selflessly sacrificed for her children, family and friends.
Barbara was peacefully called home on March 4, 2013, after a gradual decline in health. She was surrounded and supported by her children during the last moments of her life
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Charles Davis, father KV James, mother, Margaree James and her brother Robert James.
Barbara is survived by three children: Derrell Davis (Union City), Sharell Davis (San Leandro, CA) and Shaundel Davis (Union City); two daughters-in-law: Trina Davis and Nina Chase; ten beautiful grandchildren: Tyesha Jabaar-Davis, Allanieyah Hightower, Ahmad Davis, Chelsie Hunter, Larry Gentry III, Ahmari Davis, Charles Davis, Nakila Davis, Denia Davis and Shaundel Davis, Jr., and 2 great grandchildren: Tiquan Payne Jr. and Tyanni Miller. Barbara is also survived by four sisters-in-law, Lois James, Mary Ann Hamilton, Merilyn Lloyd and Gloria Davis, two brothers-in-law, Nehemiah Davis and Roger Davis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
