Barbara Jean Carlisle's Obituary
Barbara Jean Carlisle, 92, died peacefully with family members at her side on Jan. 12 in Vallejo. She was born to Arthur H. Dannheim and Mildred Dannheim, April 5, 1922 in Oakland, CA. After her father’s early death, she and her sister were adopted by Joseph A. Dolan.
Preceded in death by her devoted husband, Delbert H. Carlisle; loving grandson, Kevin H. Gaab and her only sibling, Dorothy T. Carlisle.
Barbara lived in Vallejo since 1952 where she dedicated her life to raising her four children, who she leaves to cherish her memory, Joseph R. Carlisle of Oakton, VA, Gary D. Carlisle of Holister, CA, Gregory A. Carlisle and Cynthia E. Gaab of Vallejo; her loving daughters-in-law, Teresa, Marysia and Vickie; loving niece, Marsha R. Bengston of Danville, CA; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
In her later years she and our father traveled extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East and Canada. She was also an active member of Ada Temple 52, Pythian Sisters and participated in a long standing Canasta Club. Until her death, she supported many charitable organizations.
Cremation and arrangements are entrusted to Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Ave., Oakland. www.oakland.chapelofchimes.com. Memorial services will be held at the chapel, Saturday, Feb. 14, at 10 a.m. Reception to follow at the Bergston’s home, Danville.
