Aurora Ellen Peccolo Panerio
September 28, 1925-December 23, 2016
Aurora Ellen Peccolo Panerio, 91 years, peacefully passed on December 23, 2016. Aurora was born in Borgiallo, Italy, on September 28, 1925, and was an only child to Tressa and John Peccolo, all Italian immigrants. She came through Ellis Island with her mother, Tressa, at 11 months old. She lived in Berkeley, CA for 60 years before moving to Yuba City, CA to be near her daughter and grandchildren. She was a homemaker, created a typing service for University of California students and co-owner of the La Rue Bar and Restaurant in Emeryville, CA. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Mother’s Club, St. Isidore /St. Joseph Parishes and the Fratallanza Women’s Club. Aurora was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty years, Louis Charles Panerio. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Mary Ellen Panerio Page, her son-in-law , Fraser Page, endeared by two grandchildren, Natalie Page (Jim) and Brett Page (Maguerite) and cherished by her great-grandchildren Colton Page and Paige Whiteaker. Aurora enjoyed many life-long friendships, both in the Bay Area and in the Yuba City.
Our family will be forever grateful of Aurora’s unwavering love and the precious gift of her presence in our lives. We are grateful to the staff of the Court Yard, Fountains, and Rideout Hospice for their care during her journey of life.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, 1:00PM, at the Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home, 4499 Piedmont Ave., Oakland, CA. Internment will follow at Sunset View Cemetery ,101 Colusa Ave., El Cerrito, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Early Riser Kiwanis Club Scholarship Fund, c/o Kate Doscher, P.O. Box 646, Yuba City, CA 95992. (Please specify in memory of Aurora Panerio.)
