Artis Blacksher Jr.'s Obituary
Artis Blachsher, Jr., son of the late Artis Blacksher, Sr. and the late Eva Mae, earthly journey ended October 14, 2013.
Artis was a faithful and devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He shared his commercial driving experience as a volunteer to help train other younger people who were trying to improve their economic status by acquiring their Commercial Drivers License. He was a very supportive partner with his wife in seeking to improve the quality of life in the community where they resided.
Artis had a big heart and exhibited that big heart by his generosity to family and friends. He was also a great southern style cook. Candied yams were his specialty.
Artis leaves many family and friends to cherish his memory including: His wife, Jean; His children Lendora and Douglas; His grandchildren (April, Charles, Letitia Ire); His siblings: James(Fran); Ruth (Willie); Elijah(Pam); Georgia(Emile); Erven. His brother-in-laws: Leonard (Sedonia); Robert (Glenda); Harold(Angela); Charles(Jimie). Artis also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He has a deceased sister-Versenia.
Artis will be missed by all who knew and loved his sweet and generous spirit. We praise God for sharing him with us. We celebrate his homegoing even in the midst of our sadness since we will no longer enjoy is physical presence. We find solace in knowing that he is now at rest.
